Only God knows

Okay, there’s something about Monday’s that totally exhaust me! I’m going to try something different. I’m going to open up my bible and point to a verse. Then think about how it relates to my life………..wonder if that will work………ok, here it goes.

Okay, ended up on John 12:16 At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that these things had been done to him.

Okay, this is not going to work. So now my question is; can you take a verse out of the bible without knowing what precedes it and antecedes it (I know big words for me! Yay, my brain still works) and relate it to your life. If that is the case then I would have to say that I’m going to take the first part of this verse and use it. “At first the disciples did not understand all this.”

Do we ever understand what God’s will is and why? We can never understand everything that happens to us. Only God can understand, only He knows our future and why we are going through the struggles we go through. I had a rough childhood and I’ve always said I wouldn’t have changed a thing. If I wouldn’t have gone through those struggles, would I have been able to handle the struggles I have had as an adult. Would I have been as good at my job? Would I have been able to have empathy for my students and others that have walked in and out of my life?

No one, except God, knows the struggles that people are going through. Only God knows your heart. God only gives us what we can handle. These are the phrases that helped me as a teenager, even now I have to remember them.

Maybe, one of these days, God will be able to explain to me, why I have been through all of these trials. Until then, I have to learn how to “deal” with them.

The world has drowned itself out, my worries, my anxiety, my brokenness, my overthinking, all submerged into the water as I lay on my back staring up at the black sky. A clear night like no other, I'm amazed at the stars that I can see, and yet don't dare to even began to count them. I AM A Child of God

If you grew up in a rough atmosphere, not the best relationships with your family it is so hard to figure out who you are in the eyes of God. This has been something I have struggled with for almost 4 years now. It's so hard to see God's wonderful grace, his mercy, his compassion, his total unconditional love. I've never experienced these types of things in my life, so how can God........... I try my hardest to show these things to my own kids so they never have to struggle in knowing what this all looks like. My prayer today is that I can see/feel/know/understand all these qualities from a God that I know through the bible loves me.

What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger???

Looking back on my life, this simple quote makes me think? What doesn't kill you makes you what? Stronger? Happier? More peaceful? Smarter? I feel like you can put anything at the end of this statement. My ending word has changed more times then I care to admit, as I suppose that yours has too. Having a micro-premie....."What doesn't kill you makes you smarter?" I learned so much for our 5 month hiatus in the NICU. I witnessed so many miracles. This was a time that in my life that I was the most scared, for my life and for my baby. If you have never seen what a 1 pound, 23 week baby looked like outside of the womb, you wouldn't get how amazing of a place any NICU is. I am so thankful for all that I learned through my first miracle. I'm so thankful that God gave me her to make me stronger!  Having not one, but two strokes.....
